Singing, Dancing, Acting! (aka: Roadshow)

Whoever got to see the roadshow put on by our single's ward this past week was lucky because it was fantastic! A show full of laughs and charm! We got to see some of the fun talent of some of our friends and we also got to hear the Bishop and Brother Lichfield sing - yes, sing! (so if you missed it, you will most likely never witness it. And if you did see it, that is probably the last time you will ever see it. haha)

Also, this is my favorite shot that I managed to get Wednesday night...

Stay tuned for more pictures!

Krumping

D&C 136:28
"If thou art merry, praise the Lord with singing, with music, with dancing, and with a prayer of thanksgiving and praise."

Dancing has always been one of my favorite things to do, and the other night at FHE we discovered the some people in our ward who have a passion and love for dance as well. There are so many different ways to express yourself in dance and song. Krumping/Hip Hop is just one of the ways.

Charlie is basically a hip hop krumping superstar!

Cards of Love

This past FHE the ward got together to make Valentine's for each other! We each anonymously drew the name of someone who was there that night and made a Valentine just for them. Everyone (including the guys) got down and crafty, and even poetic!

Sorry Dani, this is just too hilarious

Brother Price handling the glitter!

Spread the love this Valentine's season! And as well as the rest of the year, too :)

Relief Society Makeover Night

The ladies of the ward had quite a night learning how to do pretty things with their hair and makeup. There are so many talented women in the ward who are great hair artists and makeup designers.

So even though it is fun being a girl and getting all dressed up to enjoy the spoils of feeling fabulous and pretty with makeup and fancy hairdos (which only enhances our already good looks), the most important thing about us as individuals is said perfectly in Peter 3:3

"It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful.
No, your beauty should come from within you - the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.
This beauty will never disappear, and it is worth very much to God."

Human Foosball

There were some close calls and a few hits to the face - but we all had fun, right?

Check out the videos at the bottom of this post!

There wasn't too much action on this side for awhile
(notice the guy checking his cell phone - heehee)

New Year's Resolutions

I hope you have all gotten together a list of new goals, dreams, adventures, and plans for this coming year, and that you are already well on your way to achieving them!

Something I thought about as I was writing down some new goals for this year was what made last year (for me) so great. I was lucky enough to have quite a spectacular year full of lots of new adventures and good learning experiences. I don't just want to talk about me in this post, since this isn't my personal blog, but I feel obliged to share why I had a successful year in 2012.

Good things didn't initially just come to me - I had to go after them. Then amidst chasing after all the good things it seemed that good things were suddenly everywhere to be had. I still had my trials, and things weren't always easy, but they felt easier. I became a stronger and happier person.

So, here is a list of things that made last year stick out among other years in my life:

*take chances
-even when it doesn't seem finacially or physically possible
*don't let fear or rejection stand in the way
*let go of the past
*be creative
*take time to notice all the little things
*love more fully
     -your family and friends
     -your favorite hobby
     -everything!
*be bold
-don't be afraid to offer what you have to give
*focus on who you are as a person
*realize there is so much life to be had!

President Monson gave us 3 keys to abundance in 2013. They are:

HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

FACE CHALLENGES WITH COURAGE

I like that the prophet calls these keys to "abundance." I'm learning that life will give us tenfold when we give all we can.

So whether your goal is to quit biting your fingernails, read the Book of Mormon, make your bed every morning, or go sky diving - give it your all and don't forget that Heavenly Father is always there, as well as a ward full of friends, and a bishopric who cares.

WHAT WILL YOUR NEW YEAR BRING?

Life is such a marvelous and delicate thing. Treasure it, and love it.

Christmas Party

The FHE committe put on a beautiful Christmas evening, filled with uplifting musical performances, pretty lights, decorations, tastey food, and a good 'ol White Elephant gift exchange. And can we talk about what a good looking ward we have? Everyone looked great!

President Thomas S. Monson declared that true love is a reflection of the Savior’s love. “In December of each year we call it the Christmas spirit. You can hear it. You can see it. You can feel it.”

Merry Christmas!!!
